The Derry League will resume on Monday the 9th of October and the two-section format has been retained. Donegal Town have been given a tough section which consists of North West A, CYMS A, GPO, George's Bar, Oak Grove B, Pot Black, Roesiders and Maxibreak A. Four teams will qualify from this group.

The Donegal League held their AGM recently and there were changes in the format of the league. This season will see a switch to four-man teams with teams getting three points for a win, one point for a draw and nothing for losing. An individual ranking list will also be compiled based on performances in the league and the winner will receive the Player of the Year trophy . Mick DeWard is the new Chairman; Tom Plunkett is the Secretary/PRO while Darren Ponsonby remains the Treasurer. Clubs which have submitted teams include Donegal, North West A & B, CYMS, Killea, Ramelton A & B, Convoy A & B and Twin Towns A & B. North West A are the reigning champions.

The John Griffin Cup has reached the last 32 stage and many of the big guns, including holder Tom Plunkett are still involved. Players are encouraged to play their matches as soon as possible.

The Paddy Kelly Cup is the junior club championship and several players have reached the latter stages, among them Kevin Haughey, Fergal Browne, Conor Browne, Nicholas Culloo, Mark Mulhern, Kevin Cassidy, Paul Fahy and Ciaran O'Reilly.

The A.G.M. of the Snooker Club will be held on Tuesday, the 11th of October at 8 p.m. All members are requested to attend.
