In the Donegal League, Donegal Town defeated Convoy B 3-1 in a closely contested match in Convoy (6-12-2000). Charlie Murphy made a welcome return winning two nil and Terry Mullin bounced back from his defeat last week to win a vital match two one. Oliver Plunkett was surprisingly beaten two one, his first loss of the campaign. Tom Plunkett won the crucial last rubber two nil to edge the boys home. The club stays third in the League.

Donegal defeated G.P.O. 4-2 at home (4-12-2000) in their latest Derry match. The star of the show was Oliver Plunkett who garnered a two nil win. Both Michael Neary and Tom Plunkett who drew their respective matches ably supported him.

The Christmas Hamper competitions are in their final stages and the eventual winners of both is anyone's guess. Holder Oliver Plunkett fell to Greg McHugh while Sean McCafferty Cup holder Damien Hanna was eliminated by an in-form Sean Boyle, who now meets Greg. James McAllister disposed of Jackie McMullin and now faces Tom Plunkett for a place in the semi-final. Michael Neary awaits the winner of that tussle following his win over Luke McGee. Alan Ramsay got the better of Aidey Wilson and he will meet the winner of Kieran Temple and Paul Thomas.

The junior competition is proceeding slowly and members should play their matches pronto! Keith Mulhern has reached the semi-final and will be hoping to succeed where his pa failed...and win a hamper!

The annual Inter-Firms Competition has been very enjoyable and it is reaching its climax. Young guns Chelsea disposed of the Committee in a memorable match with Ciaran O'Reilly getting the lads over the finishing line. Kieran Cleary was also in fine form and his troops will now face the National B in the quarterfinal. They defeated holders Jimmy's Tavern in a titanic struggle, which went to a play-off. Terry Mullin won through against Kevin O'Donnell and he will relish a tussle with Tom Plunkett and his charges. Baby Joe's are everyone's favourites and they won their clash with the youngsters from Movie Madness. Francis Cassidy's men will take some stopping. They now face the National A, who came through a tight match with Timony's. They will be hoping to make the semi-final an all-National affair. The Coach House A team led by Alan Ramsay was victorious against Donegal Heating and Plumbing, with Alan winning a play-off with Seamus Faulkner. They will face the Castle Bar in the second semi-final following the latter's exciting victory over the Voyage.
