On the subject of breaks, Donegal Town has witnessed some large runs quite apart from Charlie Murphy and Niall Keenan's fantastic century efforts. From memory, Stephen Boyle, James Gallagher, Danny Harvey, Damien McGee, Mark McGroary and Tom Plunkett have all had breaks in the eighties and nineties, while Shane Faulkner, Oliver Plunkett and Aidan McGaley scored in the seventies. Stephen Boyle has had centuries since he left Donegal in 1985. Two good Derry players once played in the club and one, a McVeigh lad had a 78...he was an Irish amateur international. In league matches Charlie Murphy scored an 84 in 2000, missing the final brown with 106 available. The highest recorded competitive break is one of 73 by Tom Plunkett against Damien Hanna in the final of the Sean McCafferty Cup in 2000. Tom also compiled a 64 in the same match and yet went on to lose 3-2!
