DOG OWNERS - CLEAN IT UP!

Dear Sir,

I walk with my children to St. Columba’s P.S. every day. I have to walk along the footpath directly across from Daily’s Shop. The footpath for the most part is broken, so on a wet day there are a lot of puddles, which we have to avoid.
Alongside the puddles we have to negotiate our way around dog faeces, sometimes as much as three soilings in that short distance. It is an absolute disgrace to think that dog owners allow this to happen. Do they not realise that others have to walk on that pathway as well? If a dog soils in this way, where pedestrians have to avoid walking a path and have to go out on the road, surely it is encumbant on dog-owners/walkers to clean the mess the dogs make. It is a public footpath after all!
