THANKS TO THE PEOPLE OF DOUGLAS

Dear Editor
We would like to thank all the people of Douglas for their help, prayers and kind words during last year when our daughter Tara was taken seriously ill. We would like to thank especially Fr. Vincent Hodnett, the Principal and staff of St. Columba's Girls School, Dr. Patrick Brett, all our immediate and extended families, our neighbours and friends in Inchvale Road, Sister Francis Mary O'Shea of Ardfoyle Convent, Mossie and Theresa O'Mahony, the staff of University Hospital Cork, and Carrigaline Community School.
To everyone who offered us words of comfort we will never forget your concern and you will be forever in our thoughts and prayers.
Finally Tara has made a great recovery and is now back at school. Once again thank you and God bless you all.
Betty and Pat Cashman
Carrigaline

THANKS FROM ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

A Chairde Dhil,
On behalf of the members of St. Columba’s Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, I wish to thank those who responded so generously to our Christmas Appeal. Thanks to you, the disadvantaged people of Douglas enjoyed a happy and comfortable Christmas. We would ask people to continue supporting us through the coming year, as it is through your generousity that the St. Vincent de Paul Society can keep on helping the disadvantaged not just once a year, but everyday of the year.
Frank Darcy,
President St. Columba’s Conference,
Douglas, Cork.

MANY THANKS TO ALL

Dear Michael,
On behalf of our President John White and all the Lions members, I wish to convey our sincerest thanks to the members of the general public who so generously contributed to our Annual Christmas Food Appeal at both Shopping Centres this December past which enabled the Lions Club to provide over 170 substantial food Hampers for distribution to the needy.
A lot of people helped our members with this success story again this Christmas with helping out at the collection points at the Shopping Centres along with helping with the delivery of the Hampers before Christmas. The Co-operation of the Management of both Shopping Centres and the assistance of the staff if of great help to our Club and our sincerest of thanks to all is extended.
Yours faithfully,
Liam Moloney, Club Secretary.
