LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

SMALL TASKS

Dear Editor,

RE your photo on page 14 of issue 3, great to see the business people of Douglas getting involved with the litter issue. Why on the other hand were so many councillors and Co. Council people involved? It just confirms my thoughts on this land of ours. We are a small country, run by small-minded people getting pleasure from doing small tasks.
Now if a photograph showed them opening a new cemetery or a new road to alleviate the traffic congestion in Douglas Village or more importantly a day care centre for the forgotten people of our city and county. The disabled people aged between 50 to 65 years of age. That centre should have facilities where they could learn a new skill or where a chiropodist, hairdresser etc could be in attendance once or twice a week.
Get a grip lads and give your time to something more important and don't make me laugh with your getting your photo taken with a "Rubbish Bin". Dear editor, thank you for letting me get rid of my frustrations through your paper.
Yours sincerely,
Name and address with editor.
