R.E.M. CONCERT

We have recieved a number of complaints from some R.E.M.fans who attended there concert at Landsdown Road on Fri. l6th last. The tickets which cost £29.50 state that the gates opened at 7.00pm. The support acts were advertised as Paddy Casey and Divine Comedy. One could safely assume that if the gates opened at 7.00pm then the show would commence within 30 Minutes to an hour after opening, and the main act would be on stage at around 10.00pm.

Instead when some of our local contingent arrived at 8.00pm they discovered that R.E.M. were going on stage and that they had missed the support acts. They subsequently learned that the gates had opened at 5pm and the concert commenced at 6.30. Others arrived at 9.30 only to get the tail end of the show.

Naturally there was a lot of disappointment and complaints. We contacted local ticket agents Laser Disc’s who were totally unaware of what happened. So we contacted the promoters M.C.D. who informed us that if we had a complaint we should write to them at 7 Park Road Dun Laorloige.

Well M.C.D. there are 30 dissatisfied R.E.M. fans in Douglas and they would like an explanation. So how about one?
