Dowdstown House is situated on the banks of the Boyne in the grounds of Dalgan Park. It is a peaceful haven to soothe body, mind and spirit. The area is rich in wild life, with scenic woodland and river walks. One could commune with nature as one strolls along by the banks of the Skane and the Boyne rivers that flow through the property. It was once the home of General Thomas Taylor who served with the Duke of Wellington at Waterloo. He had the grounds planted in the pattern of the troops before the battle.

Dowdstown House is Built in the neo-jacobite fashion with splendid interior of carved wood, on the stairway and front rooms. It is set in the rich pastureland of County Meath and is an ideal setting for retreats, courses and meetings. Groups interested in touring the Boyne Valley can avail of the centre. Also cultural activities may be arranged on request. We offer Dance, Painting and Poetry at the centre.
