November 2006 saw the launch of Alan Foley and Monica Loughman’s new book Ballet Through The Lens - Foley and Loughman – A Portrait, with a Foreword by Mary Clarke, Editor of Dancing Times. This stunning coffee-table book is a lavish and intimate photographic portrait of two of Ireland’s most prolific ballet dancers. 

The beautiful photography captures Monica and Alan in all their glory, and in all their simplicity, and shows the many sides of both dancers in different aspects of their lives.  

Many of the pictures show both of them stripped of the heavy stage makeup, and they reveal an incredible, and sometimes extremely vulnerable portrait of these wonderful dancers.
