Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained

Venturers Groups are aged from 15 years - 17 and half years. They are basically a Scout Group for older Scouts and their function is to prepare for the challenge of Leadership. At Drogheda, the Venturers organise their own activities and plan their own programme. This means that they have complete control over their Venture Scout experience.

There have been a number of excellent activities for the Venturers during the past Scouting year. They have done activities including hiking, cannoeing and camping to name but a few. In St. Oliver's Unit, the Venture Group also carry out fundraising for their own group and the last twelve months have been a huge success for them. They have had a number of successful fundraisers from running golden goal competitions to selling calendars.
