Mouse Morris`s Eagle Racing Club

Aims
To bring together a number of individuals to form a racing club to be known as The Eagle Racing Club. To purchase National Hunt horses in 1998 to commence racing in the 1998/ 99 season - with Cheltenham in mind for 1999 and 2000. To develop a convivial club atmosphere and lasting friendships through the member's interest in National Hunt racing, golf and enjoying the " craic ".

  • Pre-Cheltenham golf outing at Oxfordshire Golf Club. The 1996/ 97 outing was attended by Connor O'Dwyer, Graham Bradley, Francis Woods, Mark Dwyer and Richard Hughes, many of whom won winners at the festival.
  • Club jockey Gold Cup winner Conor O'Dwyer (w.a.).
  • For the non-golfers stud/ stable visits will be orgainsed in association with trips to the races.
  • Members Competitions for the weekend breaks around Ireland at the top class hotels with green fees included.
  • The Administration
    The operation of the club will be governed by the club constitution which will be set in accordance with generally accepted Irish Turf Club standards. The committee will comprise the following: Christy O'Connor Jnr., Michael " Mouse " Morris, Matty Ryan. Decision of the committee shall be final..
    The financial affairs will be managed by Tadhg Gleeson F.C.A. of Academy House, Fethard, Co.Tipperary. Full accounts will be furnished to each member at the end of the term. All horses will be insured at cost and are scheduled to be sold at the public auction in May - June 2000. Closing date for paid up applications: 1st September 1998.

    The Cost
    All-in cost of IR£1,000 per unit. No further call for monies as horses will be sold after two years and when final accounts are prepared a distribution will be made, after all expenses are deducted, pro-rata to the number of member units held, of the proceeds of sale of the horses together with prize money won.
