Fantastic site, I could spend hours reading it all. Being Irish and living away from home, I find it a marvellous way of keeping in touch with news and opinions from home. The photos in particular make me feel homesick!

I found this Site very informative and interesting. However I must take issue with your description of Morgan's 'Tyrone's Rebellion'as'sawdust'- though I agree with few of his opinions regarding the Nine Years War-I must admit that I found it to be one of the more readable and accurate accounts of the period.O'Faolain's 'The Great O'Neill' on the otherhand while undoubtably an beautifully written book is continually frustrating to read owing to the inordinate amount of basic historical innaccuracys.I must commend your article on Red Hugh O'Donnell it is the most accurate brief account of his life I have come across on the web to date. Your site is stimulating and facinating I look forward to refering to it in the future.

I loved you site! I have a question. I was brought up believing that I was a decendant of The Great O'Neill. I was alway told a story about how there was no proper err to the throne and in a contest(whoever could touch the other side of the river first)The Great O'Neill cut off his hand and through it across the river and thus became king. This is also depicted in the bloody coat of arms with the bloody hand and the fish. Is this story true. Does anyone know? Pat

The topics and information on this site are immensely important and relevant to all people, unfortunately this type of discussion and critical analysis of the dirty, corrupt and trashy way of life that is/was the Celtic Tiger seems to be confined to the odd website or letter to a newspaper. What you are doing is noble and refreshing, and in total contrast to the behaviour of the majority of the parochial yobs that we call politcions. Please keep it up and expand into other forms of communication to stimulate debate and inform people. There are a lot of people out here who are questioning whats going on but feel isolated and unsure and need people like you for information and encouragment. This is a great site with beautiful pictures and useful information. The photographs are very pretty and have made me feel that I must go back there to soak in the scenery again. I only had a flying visit previously. Great work. But it would be even better if each photograph has a description beneath it.
