Painting of the magnificent Cliffs of
Moher. The mighty barrier wall of these cliffs,
stretching for over ten miles and rising sheer to
over 650 feet, marks the edge of The Burren, County
Clare. Nearby is Aill na Searrach (called 'Aileens'
by the surfers), where one of Ireland's best surfing
waves can produce a 15 second, 30 foot tube. In the
distance can be seen the Aran Islands, or maybe even
the legendary Tir na nOg, the Land of the Ever
Young!

Stormy Seascape. One of the wonders of the Irish coast, particularly the West coast,is the rapidity with which the weather can change from bright sunshine to dark stormy squalls.

Couple on Autumn Shore. This painting originally had only one person on the shore, but it looked so lonely that I had to add a companion.

The scenery in Connemara's Maam Valley is
particularly spectacular. This little house or
'bothan' near Maam Cross may have been used as a
bailiff's lookout to prevent poaching.

Now living in Kinvara, County Galway, I was born in The Deise (County Waterford). I started painting 5 years ago, and have exhibited at Carlow Eigse Arts Festival, at Kilkenny Arts Week, at Garter Lane Arts Centre with Waterford Homecrafts, and at Galway Arts Week.

Painting has transformed my life. Things I have passed without notice for nearly fifty years are now a source of wonder. Art/painting is a huge part of the juice, the soul of my life. It has almost completely cured my social phobia, enabling me to visit the Atlantis Commune, even in Colombia, after years of fear. I’ve lost interest in drink and drugs. Painting grounds my pagan/mystic philosophy in reality. It enables me to see and marvel at the ISness and beauty of things, at the miraculousness of “mere” existence. Painting was the best thing to happen to me in a long, long while.
