Gold leaf is used to striking effect in this piece. The sculpture, rendered in bog oak and gold leaf stands 800mm tall on a base of liscannor slate 600mm x 750mm. This piece is part of the Circle of Life Collection which is a rites of passage study. The figures wear nothing but matching gold necklaces. Ornamental brooches and necklaces were important symbolic items of jewellery to the ancient Celts.
