For many years the club has used the Offaly Topic as a
method of communicating with our members. With the introduction of our new
website we will still continue to use The Topic for all our notices and this
section of the website will become an electronic version. If you wish to be

Another season beckons Another season beckons for
the young players of Edenderry Town Schoolboys Football Club. The club is
hoping to build on last season's unprecedented success. The club are always
looking for new players from Under 9 up to Under 16. Edenderry Town Schoolboys
F.C. play in the Kildare and District league and have entered two teams at
Under 9, two teams at Under 10, and one each in the Under 11, Under 12, Under
13, Under 14, Under 15 and Under 16 leagues. All games take place on a
Saturday morning, but we are hoping our Under 16 team can play their home
games on Monday evening under lights in Paddy Maloney Park. Training
sessions have now begun, as the season is now only a few weeks away Any
player wishing to join the club can contact Martin Doyle at 086-3414664 Under 10 Development Manager The club urgently requires a manager for their Under 10
Development team. Anyone interested should contact Martin Doyle urgently. Managers Appointed The following managers have been appointed for the
coming season: Under 9 Development team -Aaron Simpson; Under 9 Premier team - Jack Collins; Under 10 Development team - vacant; Under 10 Premier team – Marc Lennon Under 11 Premier team - Patrick McDonnell and Terry
Nolan; Under 12 Premier team - Brian Dunne; Under 13 Premier team - Keith Parnell, Mick Nolan and
Brendan Mahon; Under 14 team - Peter Hurley; Under 15 team - Martin Doyle; Under 16 team - Patrick McNamee, Gary O'Connor and
Aisling Kelly. Thanks Due to work commitments, neither Martin Daly nor Philip
Farrell can manage a team this season. On behalf of everyone involved in the
club, a sincere thanks to Martin and Philip for all their work and effort
over the last three seasons. Volunteers Active support from adults is
central to the club's activities, which simply cannot take place without the
help of volunteers. Involvement is not only fun and rewarding but also
contributes enormously to the community. A range of supports, including
coaching courses, is provided for all volunteers. None of the club's
managers will reject any help, either at training or on match days. Summer Camp This year's
summer camp was another huge success. 138 boys and girls enjoyed the biggest
summer camp in the club's history. Thanks to all the coaches and Karen Daly,
the club's camp administrator. The weather was beautiful, apart from one
shower. Thanks also to the Brady family, a local family, for their continued
support and sponsorship of the club's summer camp. The club are delighted to
be associated with Brady's Centra The Big Kick Off The Kildare &
District Schoolboys league has decided the following dates for the 2006-2007
season. Saturday, September 2 is the date set for the eleven-a-side team,
while the 7-a-side teams kick off the following Saturday, September 9. |
