Edenderry Schoolboys Football Club are pleased to announce that Derek Kelly and Stuart Cullen of our Under 14 Premier Squad have been invited to attend trials for the Ireland Under 15 International Development Squad on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of August. Both of these players had impressed during their recent participation in the Kennedy Cup Competition as part of the Kildare and District Schoolboys League Representative Squad. The competition, which is attended every year by a large contingent of scouts from the major English Clubs was well represented by the Club, with no less than six members of last years Under 13 Premier Double winning team involved in the panel.  Vincent Butler the Under 15 Manager was in attendance at the June event and it would appear that he was greatly impressed by the Edenderry Players

Speaking at the recent Kildare and District Schoolboys League awards night, Vincent Butler (Under 15 International Manager) indicated that the ongoing development of players and the continuous improvement in the standard being set by the league had not gone un-noticed. In his address he further stressed that the it was no longer necessary for a player to move to a Dublin based club in order to further their opportunities as due to the strength of the league it was the intention of his colleagues within the international set-up to recognise the strength of the league by hosting regional trials for the Kildare Region in the future. The club would like to take this opportunity to wish Stuart and Derek the best of luck with their trial
