We believe that for Edenderry Town Schoolboys Football Club to succeed in all its objectives, we must develop appropriate partnership arrangements. To this end we were proud to be involved with one of the most significant developments in the history of the Kildare and District Schoolboys League of which we are one of the original members.

In October 2001 the Kildare & District Schoolboys League Academy was launched by, Minister Charlie McCreevy and international manager Brian Kerr in the Durragh Lodge Hotel. The launch was one of the most prestigious occasions in Kildare soccer and the attendance that night included some of the league patrons, including Graham Barrett (Arsenal), Keith Foy (Nottingham Forest), Shaun Byrne (West Ham Utd) and Pat Devlin (Bray Wanderers). The Kildare & District Schoolboys League Academy and School of Excellence was formed to cater for the soccer needs of the Kildare League.

The Academy was formed in order to cater for the elite squads for Under 11 through to Under 16 level. In addition a School of Excellence caters for all children at Under 9 and Under 10 level participating in the league and is held on a number of Saturdays throughout the course of the season. The Academy through its partnership with Nottingham Forest Football Club has benefited many players since its beginning with their participation through the representative teams in such illustrious competitions as the Kennedy Cup, The Amsterdam Cup and many more. All these competitions prove to give the players valuable experience, which in some cases has led to trials with English Teams.
