EchoLink Add-ons

There are various links here that will be of interest to you if you run an EchoLink Node

========================================

EchoSysop

This simple application takes advantage of the COM Automation Interface which EchoLink supports. This enables programmers to create "add-ons" to EchoLink which may be useful to the sysop or the link users.

EchoSysop interfaces with EchoLink to take care of your station's beacon/ID'ing requirements - Your Station Information file can be sent with each beacon, giving RF users various bits of information such as how to dial-up a node, which CTCSS tone you need and other such details.  If your link is busy, this speech ident will be skipped.  EchoSysop can also play a longer CW ID if the link is idle. There are other EchoLink add-ons on his web site. Written by M0PZT

EchoTime

EchoTime TTS is a small program that uses the API of EchoLink by K1RFD to provide a few additional functions that may be useful to someone operating an EchoLink node. The program will work only with an EchoLink node that is configured with a radio, it will not work if EchoLink is configured in the computer user mode.

The current version of EchoTime uses the MS Text To Speech Engine (SAPI 5). TTS (computer synthesized voice) has several advantages over previous versions - it's much more flexible than using pre recorded WAV files for info, announcements, etc., and it offers a way to have everything that the node radio 'says' use the same voice. Using TTS provides a virtually unlimited amount of data that we can have announced over the node radio - weather, club meeting information, DX spots, etc. with the data gathered in real time and not having to be manually formatted and recorded as a sound file. Info for the TTS engine is supplied in simple text files.
