EchoWeatherMP3 is a simple to use Windows XP & Direct X utility that allows the Sysop/Owner of a Repeater or Link to send Weather Information to their RF users Using MP3 News/ Weather audio files that are supplied supplied on some weather websites and club web sites. The MP3 Audio information can be retrieved from a URL at set time intervals. The Information can also be transmitted to the RF users at timed intervals or the RF user using DTMF can select the information that they want to hear The program runs alongside EchoLink

Initial Setup

Download the EchoWeatherMP3.zip software into a directory unzip the software (1 file) and run. There is no installing the software simply put the file anywhere and run it ( Can be run on the desktop )

Time Periods

Simply tick the section that you wish to use where the Audio file will be played or the URL information be collected. You may only wish the Audio to be collected by your RF users Only using DTMF

There are 2 time periods for each section one for getting the AudioFile from the URL and one to transmit the information to the RF user. The transmitted Audio will only be heard by your RF users.

URL Button

This button is used if you wish to get the audio now. Only MP3 files

File Button

This button is used to select an audio file from the hard drive if you do not want to use the URL audio file.

From the hard disc you can use MP3, Wav Etc but not from a URL

Default File

This button selects the default MP3 audio file. This is the file where the URL audio data is stored so if you want to use the URL audio information then you will need to select this file by clicking on the button. (C:\InfoX.mp3)

Read Files

When ticked the URL Audio data files will be collected from the website and stored ONLY in the default file. ( C:\InfoX.mp3 Etc ) If you want the url file to be transmitted then you MUST select this file.

Beacon

When Ticked the selected Audio File will be played and transmitted at the set time interval. The time interval is set in minuets

Save Changes

This button will save all your changes

Exit/Save Data

This button will save all your changes to any of the fields then exit the program.

There is a progress bar at the top of the program screen that shows the download progress.
