Changes We Made For To Achieve A Green

School.

1. We stopped bringing sweets, bars and Taytos to school.

2. We stopped bringing food out into the yard.

3. There are two different litter wardens in the yard each day to clean up after SOS and Lunch.

4. We have three bins in our classroom. One is a compost bin which apple cores, apple pieces, orange skins, orange pieces, banana skins, banana pieces, kiwi skins, kiwi pieces and pencil shaving go into.

5. The second bin is a white bin which contains dry plastics, clean plastics, dry tissues, clean tissues, dry cardboard, clean cardboard, kitchen paper and sheets of paper.

6. The third bin, the black one is the one which contains wet tissues, wet cardboard, wet plastics, dirty plastics and also, anything that cannot be recycled in any of the other two bins.

7. We have started sending two children from fourth class to collect the paper, tissues and plastics from the white bins.

8. We have been sending two children from Ms. Healy’s class to collect the fruit peels and skins from the classes.

9. We have kept our yard very clean and tidy.

10. We have begun to put the right foods in the right bins.
