The National Spring Clean 2008.

On the ninth of April 2008 Br. De Róiste came into our class and announced that we were going to do the spring clean up. Br. told us to bring our own Wellingtons and gloves. The next day after SOS we started. Our whole class went over and sat in the shed.

Soon we got sorted into our groups with our bibs, bags and pickers. I was in Br. De Róiste group with, Ciara, Anjaly, Colum, and Eoin , while Jonathon took some photos.

At the start our group decided to go up the river bank in search of litter. At first we found nothing major, just a lot of beer cans and plastic bottles. But, as time went on we found a rabbit cage, a pair of boots, a toilet lid! , a baby bath, a strimmer, a bin, two hubs, three car wheels, a shower door, a lot of baby toys, six iorn bars, a bag of empty milk bottles and loads of baby toys. Nearing the end we found one of the schools slioters and two tennis balls.

I really think that people should stop littering because it is seriously harming the environment .I am really glad that our class did the tidy up. It made us learn that we should never litter because you never know where the litter will turn up.

Also, we made our school tidier by collecting thirty three bags of rubbish.
