Project ‘07: 3rd4th Class
‘Hand in
Hand’ Project with
Schools
from around the World.
The face is the image of the heart and the eyes are
the mirror of the soul. The palm of the hand, a place where we feel safe and
secure…The aim of this project is to build an international Schools communit ywho work ‘hand in hand’.Schools all
over the world, Canada, Japan, Austria, Slovenia etc. sent their hands to Lieven at Sint Amandusschool, Meulebeke, Belgium
and he put them up for all to see on his
school website http://www.sip.be/stamand/feelings/kidshandinhand.htm .
First of all we created a hand-shaped signature by
making a handprint on paper of one of our hands. Therefore we painted it in a colourful way. Then we composed a little face on the
printed palm of the hand that shows our feelings by using the 'wiggly' eyes
that Lieven sent to us when we joined the project.
We used these handprints in our card game: 'Express
your feelings, don't be cool!'
We also joined two other activities:
Ø We made a 'freehand'
drawing with Lieven’s online program.( click on ‘Draw online’)
Ø We drew hands in a very
simple (but fantastic) free drawing and painting program for children: 'Tux Paint'.You can download the program on this website. http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/tuxpaint/
(For 'Windows' you need 2 files: 'tuxpaint windows-installer' and 'tuxpaint-stamps
windows-installer'.) Why not have a go!!!!
