Saoirse and Caleb holds a   Limpets he found stuck to the rocks

Eoin found a closed mussel shell

We looked in the rockpools

We saw a sea beadlet anemone

Jack B. holds a periwinkle

We saw lots of Mussels and Barnacles

Our visit to the Seashore: 3rd4th

We studied the three families of Seaweed.

Green seaweed: Bladder Wrack

Red Seaweed: Jack K. holds a piece of Dulse. Some people love to eat this.

Brown Seaweeds: Saoirse holds some kelp. We get iodine from this.

Our Sea Poems

I WISH I WAS  A  SAILER

I wish I  was a  sailer sailing through the sea.

I wish I saw a whale swimming through the sea.

I wish I had a boat  to go sailing through the sea.

But what if I did ,what would it be?

I wish it was white on the out side and blue on the inside with red strips on it.

And when I get my boat I will sail around the whole world.

CRAB   POOLS

I   like   going   to   the   crab   pools.

   Restless   crabs    fighting   under   rocks.

In  some   shells   are  hermit   crabs.

   They    have   little   sharp   pinchers.

Hurting   others   fish   and   making   them   cry.

Silly   little   shrimps   slide   on   shells.

    Especially   hermit   crab   shells.

    And   dead   fish    shells.

Sneaky  little   shrimps.      Eoin   O   Dowd

I  wish

I   wish  I   had  a  sailing   boat

To  sail  across   the  see

We  would  have  such   fun

My  family  and  me

We’d   go  out   on   a  sunny  day

Upon  the   ocean  blue.

And sail  around  for  hours

And  hours.

Would  you  like to  come too?

BY  MEGAN  HANNAN.

Come sail with me

Would you like to sail with me out in the open sea

Would  you like to sail with me , me and my family.

We can go out and see some sharks in the open sea.

So come on , I won’t have a good time without you.

Please come sail with me , we will go diving in the open sea.

It’ll be so fun in the deep blue sea.

I might even  show you the secrets ,the secrets of the beautiful Irish sea

Fishing

Fishing is great

I love it so much

Swishing fish in the water

Hear the splashing fish

I like bigger fishing boats

Nice boats are shiny

Going around the lake

But it might make your boat shake
Out on a lovely day  is the best
At the island it is great and
There are all the reasons I like to go fishing

Starfish

Starfish in the water
Think of what it would be
And many times I see them
Right in front of me
First they loose a leg
It will very soon grow back.

Starfish in the water

Happy to be back.
