INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the EO FEASA site for Irish tuition. Experienced teachers we offer tuition in modern Irish, an Ghaeilge, on-line from this site, sharing our knowledge and enthusiasm for the language with you and with all who may chance to visit our pages.

We supply sample lessons at various levels from basic to advanced on this website and will continue to add to them in response to our enrolled students requests for particular topics.

Students who would like to submit written work by email and have it corrected may enrol with us and avail of our correction, assessment and advice service. This is what is different about this site. You can get in touch directly with your own personal tutor who will respond to your actual requirements.

Enrolled students may request assistance in any aspect of their courses and we will respond generously by sending them what they require or by advising them where it may be obtained.

Regrettably we will no longer be able to respond to requests for Irish names for boats, cats, dogs, houses, or translations of Granny's imprecations in Gaelic much as we enjoyed corresponding with people throughout the world on such topics. Time has caught up with us and we need to allocate it sensibly.

LAYOUT OF SITE
The links at the top and/or bottom of each page will guide you back and forth through the site. The introductory pages are all interlinked as are the lessons. Most of the lessons are presented in two frames on screen, the upper frame containing the text of the lesson and the lower giving explanations of vocabulary, grammar, and idiom. These frames work on Microsoft Internet Explorer 4. Please let us know if you have problems with the site.

DEVELOPMENT
Additional material and new lessons will be added and changes made from time to time mostly in response to requests from our enrolled students. See EO FEASA NEWS News. Enrolment Dates for information on changes, current fees, new lessons, and how the venture is going.

Become a sponsor of the Eo Feasa site

While the author publishes this site from a desire to promote the Irish language the cost of it in time and money is significant and is not offset by the number of enrolled students who avail of the services offered. If you think this site is worth maintaining and developing we would appreciate your assistance in defraying the cost.

At present the site is hosted as a homepage at a cost of €216. If sufficient funding were available we could host it elsewhere and put a search engine on it which would assist students greatly. We could also add to the lessons more regularly.

If you wish to become a sponsor of the site please send your subscription either by PayPal (to "eofeasa "at" eircom "dot" net" -- just remove the spaces and quotation marks and write the address as an ordinary email when using PayPal. I am trying to defeat the SPAMMERS.) or by post (Eo Feasa, Leixlip Gate, Leixlip, Co Kildare Phone 00 353 -1-6104442). We will acknowledge your contribution with a proper receipt and record it in our accounts for the year. In addition we will publish your contribution and your name, or soubriquet if you prefer, on a new "Sponsors Page" on the site. If you wish to include a logo or a link to your own web site as part of such a contribution we will be pleased to publish these.

If you have views on how the site should develop please let us know. We have maintained it for the last four years and look forward to as many more -- perhaps with your assistance.
