Undead Grim Reapers

by
Jason Hill

As the armies of Undeath raze their way across the landscape, slaughtering all in their path, the skies grow black with a ravaging swarm of decay. Grim Reapers are a foul crossbread of undead and demon forming a horrific monster capable of unearthly acts, reaping vengance on man from beyond the grave. Striking where opponents are weakest and raining death upon the living, they swoop across the battlefield, causing whole units of even the most grizzled veterans to break and flee at the mere sight of them, reaping the souls of all those foolish enough to stand their ground. As their scythes cut through the flesh, the cries of every victim claimed by the scythe can be heard, trapped within the cursed blade for all eternity.

This entry is to be added to the units section of the Undead Army list in Warhammer Armies - Undead.

Modelling your Grim Reapers

Grim Reaper models appear quite stunning on the battlefield, and are also easy to model. They basically look like big skeletons with big, bat wings and scythes, but you can pu on extra details, such as horns, a tail, armour, etc, as you see fit. The main body can be made from any Citadel skeleton model that brandishes a scythe, preferably metal, to hold the wings up. The large, bony wings are taken from the Citadel Tyranid Gargoyles. If you don't feel like buying a bunch of 40K Gargoyles only to use the wings, we suggest that you mail order the parts directly from Games Workshop (The wings are #72671/1).
