Donegal's quite a big county. In fact, it's the forth biggest county in Ireland.

Gallagher's Farm Hostel is on the south coast of Donegal. It's four miles east of Killybegs and fourteen miles west of Donegal Town.
Close by, there are a couple of really nice beaches. The beaches here are very clean and you are also guaranteed lots of space when you go to them. The population is quite small in the towns in the area and there are quite a few beaches to choose from.
Some of the beaches, such as Rossnowlagh and Bundoran have a very good surf and there are a few surf clubs in the area. Also, the choral is considered one of the best in Ireland off St. John's Point. Many divers stay in the hostel while on a diving weekend.
Next door to the hostel is a farm which caters for tourists. They have pitch 'n put, a driving range, an equestrian centre and a pets corner for children. It's very popular as the equestrian centre has an indoor arena, so the weather can't put you off this activity.
Here's a few pictures of the equestrian centre and the pets corner:
Killybegs is very good for going angling. Many locals hire out boats for the day and also take people on fishing expeditions. In Donegal Town, you can go on a boat trip of the small islands that are dotted around the bay. Also, in Ardara, you can go and visit some caves hidden in the cliffs there.

There are some castles, churches and Celtic crosses in the area dating from the nineth century which are always interesting to see. The local church near the youth hostel has a round tower dating from centuries back.
