Why the hell am I here:

It’s another east Cork beach mark that can produce

Exceptional catches of cod and ray, with the odd bass

Thrown in along with flounder.

Time and tide:

This beach is another shallow sandy mark and the

Best time to fish it is at night , or after a storm when the water is coloured. A coming tide is best, wether a big spring or a neap I haven't made my mind up on yet.

Where to fish:

This beach is fairly even, though the far left where there are rocks produces bass regularly.

Bait and method:

General beach tactics for codling and flounder, with only medium casts 60-70yds for the ray. Squid or razor works well for ray, you will also catch them on mackerel if you don’t mind being plagued with silver eels in the process. Lug and crab for cod and flounders, with bass partial to anything large cast close.

Tips:

Surfers, wind surfers and now kite surfers use this beach in windy weather. This beach is prone to vast amounts of weed being blown in certain conditions which makes angling almost impossible.

2009, The recent awful weather has ruined any chance of a good go at this beach, but some codling have been caught here since Christmas.
