Hello
everyone and welcome once again to our monthly newsletter. Knockadoon
2003
The
dates are fixed, the guests are coming and so it's all
go for Knockadoon 2003.
So here goes - we're planning to run our annual course
this year from 17th - 24th of August. No, it's not a
mistake, the camp this year will run from Sunday to Sunday
giving us organisers a whole day to get the camp ready
for your arrival.
Application forms and promotional posters etc... will
be available in the near future and will be posted out
to all last years participants as soon as we get them. I
would recommend getting your application as soon as possible
as we have had a huge interest already in the course. Special
Guests
So
who's coming…
We're
delighted to annouce that this years special guests will be Lori
True who you will all remember from last year and Marty Haugen.
Marty
Haugen is a liturgical composer from Eagan, Minnesota. For
the past fifteen years he has presented workshops across North
America, Europe, Australia, and Central America for both Roman
Catholic and Protestant liturgical ministers. His communion
setting,
Now the Feast and Celebration, and his vespers service, Holden
Evening Prayer, are well known among Lutheran congregations,
while his Mass of Creation is arguably the most widely used musical
setting
of the Ordinary among English-speaking Roman Catholic parishes.
Together with David Haas, he began the popular GIA psalm series,
Psalms for the Church Year. Marty has over 250 separate titles
published through GIA on more than twenty recorded collections,
including such songs as "We Remember," "Shepherd
Me, O God," and "Gather Us In." His music appears
in numerous GIA hymnals, as well as hymnals produced for Canadian
and Australian Roman Catholics, the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America (ELCA), and numerous other Protestant denominations.
