The Award Ceremony in Carnaun
Gerry with the AIB Co. Galway supreme Arts Award trophy.
This magnificent trophy by Behan depicts a traditional fishing boat  - "The Galway Hooker" or the "Bád Mór.
The "Leath Bháid" (half boat) was the smaller version. 
Both were very popular in Galway Bay in olden times 
Elizabeth Porrit and Baby Madelyn, Aoife and Mico with the trophy!
Anita Coffey (Teacher), Noreen Conway (representing  the sponsors AIB Galway, Marilyn Gaughan(Arts officer, Galway Co. Council), Finbarr O'Regan (Principal Carnaun School), John Langan (Sculpture and Project Coordinator), Peter Feeney (Deputy Mayor Galway Co. Co.) and Tina Fallon (AIB Athenry) at the Presentation in Carnaun School on June the 17th. 2005.
