CARNAUN
NATIONAL SCHOOL![]() Buzz from Narth Carolina called to Keira’s House My name is Keira. I am 11 years old. Buzz came to stay over at my
house. I don’t live on a farm, but I live in the country so I showed Buzz
the cows, sheep and horses. I told Buzz about life in the country. I have two sisters and two pet cats. My dad works in Ennis (bike and lawnmower store) when we got inside we had potatoes and meat cooked together in an Irish stew. To make Irish stew you put in parsnip, carrots, potatoes, and meat
to make the mixture you put in cornflour and cook slowly.
In our school we won the ESB Environmental Awareness Award four years in succession. We won County Galway four times in a row and last year we were the winners of Connaught/Ulster and runners-up in Ireland. That is more than any other school won. We are the first school in Ireland to get the Irish Organic symbol and have an Organic Licence for our school garden. We grow Potatoes, Sweet corn, Cabbage, Beetroot, Spinach, Runner Beans, Strawberries, Gooseberries, Pumpkins, Corgettes, Carrots, Parsnips and Turnips. SCOIL NÁISIÚNTA CARNÁIN |
