Stephanie, .... report that flight is booked so I'll see you there.
- Also our mother, Anne (Lindsay) Carey is a deceased past
pupil and would have been a boarder from 1932 - 1937, and she
was big into the Past Pupils Union (Pres. a lot) from 1963 - 1971
or later, even. Just to include her name with the prayers for deceased
- you mentioned this in your letter.....
(PPU. donated to the school the new refectory
in the new wing in 1966.....!!)
---Also as well also, Mary (my sister) would love to be there
from Spain, where she's been living since 1974, but she is/will be in hospital
still for recovery from huge hip surgery. -- prayers there too,
if we can, please.....
- And I would love to hear more news from you, - is Mother Elizabeth
(Catherine Butler, RJM) from Scotland coming? - Sheila Dolly?- Margaret
Duffy/Ann Duffy? - Allie (Fitzgerald) Healy from Belmullet? - Iarla Hession
from Tuam/living in England? Ann O'Malley (Tuam)-?- Mary Egan
(Galway)-? (You don't have to answer - I can wait!)
Good luck with the marathon job you're doing - Looking forward
to the event!
- Ama Carey- Barr. class of 1971 !!.
(I've always wanted to say that.) - 1966 - 1971.....o-o-old!

Email - 28,03.2001, My
name is James Rowan and I am sending this to inform you that I will be
attending the renunion on the 28th of April. I informed the other five
on the list as to what is happening but have heard nothing since, they
could of course have got in touch with you already. I just want to say
that I think this is a brilliant idea and hope that it is a great success.
Yours sincerly, James Rowan.
Email 08.03.2001 I
don't recognise any names but that is probably because I am a very
old girl of Gortnor Abbey! I live in Maghull,
Merseyside UK. Any one near me? I am very much looking forward to
the re-union on April 28th. I was a teacher in GAC 1959 - 1961/62.
I am still at the chalk 'n talk game! (even though officially retired!)but
only part time. If you are living in UK, especially North West, give me
an e-mail! Best wishes. Jo Langan

Many, many thanks for St Patrick's Day Greetings
from the Reunion Gang! Also - Oh how I loved your Web Site!!
It is such a happy site. My eldest son is working in Web Site Designe
in Interact of Spiddle and he was as thrilled with it as me!!! In
fact - there we were - me and all my men folk - and they were as excited
as I was!!! So much so that I turned around to them and had to announce
that it was ME - not THEM - that was the Past Pupil of Gorntor Abbey and
it was ME - not THEM that was joining this exciting reunion!!!!
The amount of work you are putting in on our behalf is amazing - and does
not go unappreciated all the way down here in the Strange World of Cork!!!
Love and Best Wishes Grainne OConnor

Poem from an excited Past Pupil
-
Hip hip horray
Reunion day is almost here
Your outfit ironed, your good shoes shined
Your party piece more than mimed.
Hair is curled and eyebrows plucked
You're nearly ready with a bit of luck
To meet dear friends both new and old
To stop and stare at photos gold.
To walk the halls both big and small
Of bygone years to recall.
