Hi to you all.  
Would you believe that 4000 pupils have past through Gortnor Abbey since 1908. 
I hope most of you have received your invitation by now.  
Please do your best with your list and contact each other in the hope that everyone in your year will hear about the re-union. 

PROGRAMME

Saturday 28th. April 2001 

1.00- 2.00    Arrival -  - Soup and sandwiches available and Tea or coffee on tap all day.  

2.00 - 2.30   Official Opening of Re-Union by Mother Provincial  

We Plant an Oak Tree to commemmorate the great occasion 

2.30 - 4.00 Walkabout - Down Memory Lane, Look at Albums etc.  

4.00 - 4.30 -  Light entertainment! 

4.30 - 5.0 0   Cuppa and Chat 

5.00 - 6.30 Concelebrated Mass 

6.30 -8.00 Retire and Refresh. 

8.00 - Sunrise - Banquet at The Downhill Hotel

Accomodation:

We are awaiting  the list of hotels and B & B in Ballina and Crossmolina and also special rate for the Downhill but we would advise you to book directly as soon as possible.  List in Ireland West brochure. 

Cost of Re-Union: 

£5 for snacks during the day in G.A.C.  £5 towards gift for nun's new home.  Banquet meal should cost between £20- £25 per head.  You will receive a letter next week with booking slip attached.  No mon - no meal.   Banquet hall capacity 450 so book early. 

Souvenir Booklet will consist of greetings from Mother General and Rev Mother, the Bishop of Killala.  It will also contain the history of the Jesus & Mary nuns from Errew Abbey to Gortnor Abbey  to the present day.  A class photograph of each year if possible, the school register, a list of the deceased pupils and their school year and greetings from anyone who cannot attend. It will also contain your funny incidents, or memories or photos (name and address on back of photo and little synopsis of incident).  These need to be sent to - Swangate, Athenry, Co. Galway - before the 1st. March 2001.  The price 
of booklet yet to be decided. 

If any of your class mates have died please invite their  parents or family to the mass.  Forward their names and year for the list which will be read out at mass. 

Some classes are meeting on the Friday night which is a great idea. Good thinking'. 

As with all re-unions most of us will have changed - 
got fatter, thinner, bald, changed hair colour, 
changed accents, maybe colour culture and style 
so we will err on the cool side - 
dress informal for dinner in case you are wondering'.
