"A Week in the Life of an Irish Child"
My name is Melissa. I am eleven years old. I am an Irish child. I live in the country about 8km from the town Athenry.
My Mom drives me to school every day. I attend school in Carnaun from Monday to Friday. School starts at 9.30 to 3.00.
We have our break at 11.00 and then again at 12.30. For our first break we get out until quarter past eleven. We play different games like 40/40, dodge ball, tag, soccer, rugby and hurling.
For our second break we get 45 minutes.
Our time table for the school day!
My Mom is a house wife and my Dad works with the Electricity Supply Board.
When school is over I travel home by car. I eat my dinner and then I do my homework. We  usually get three subjects for homework.
I spend about an hour at my homework. When I finish my homework I feed my two dogs and cat and go out on the trampoline with my little sister Megan.
Sometimes my friend Sinéad comes to our house for awhile so we watch Lizzie Maguire at 5.30 on television. Then I watch my other favourite programme and maybe have a snack.
Every morning I usually have an Irish breakfast of egg, rashers, pudding and fried tomatoes.
For lunch I have a sandwich, for tea I have tea and biscuits and for dinner we have a different meal every evening like mash potatoes and vegetables, bacon and cabbage, Irish stew and lasagne.
Bacon and cabbage is our favourite.
Friday evening is my favourite day of the week because school is over until Monday
On Saturday I go shopping with my Mom to Galway city which is only about 12 miles from our house. We usually do the shopping in Dunne’s Stores or Super Valu stores. On our way out from shopping we visit my sister Jessica, Liam and their son Ryan.
We stay awhile there then we head home.
When we get home I help my Mom put away groceries, then I play the play station and maybe go out on the trampoline.
On Sundays we go to Mass in a church called Esker at 11.00.
When Mass is over  we visit my aunt and two cousins and then we head home for our Sunday dinner.
My sister Jessica, Liam and their son Ryan come for dinner.
After dinner we sit down and relax for the rest of the day.
This is usually how I spend my week.
