The Carnaun Stone
The Carnaun Stone marks the Townland of Carnaun and can be seen
about 300 metres from the school where the Athenry Road meets the road
into Carnaun Village.
This project entailed finding the stone, getting it on the site,
gathering the money and getting the name inscribed.
Project Leader: Marion Fahy 6th. Class
2000 It was sponsored by the Families of Carnaun Townland
The excellent work on the stone was done by Edwin Feeney (Pastpupil)
from Ballinloughane.
(It took until 2002 to get the work completed
so we decidid to be different, hence to date 2002)
