September 2003        We the project Partners from Guethary, France, Perigueux, France, Aluksne, Latvia, Cluj -Napoca, Romania and from Athenry, Ireland are delighted to work together again in our Comenius Project “I eat, therefore I am” which is now entering its 3rd. year for us.        This extraordinary project has achieved the distinction of being one of the best projects in Europe in the past few years – nominated best project at Netdays Italia and only one of four to be presented at Netdays Europe 2001 in Brussels.       The number of visitors to the original website www.eat-online.net  has risen from 117.000 last year to 400.000 to date. And we are very proud to be actively participating in all of it.       Sharing ideas concerning food from a local, regional and international perspective has made it very imaginative and attractive for the children, parents and teachers in our communities.       This project that encourages the emergence of a European identity for children is now followed with interest not alone in our little communities but also by our colleagues in the surrounding schools and also by our many admirers in our own countries and  world wide.       Even though the original partners have now completed their final year we are looking forward to continuing on with this wonderful project and feel that at the end of our three year term that the records of our achievements will serve as a model for other European Schools to copy.
