Application for a Green-Schools Award

This year we applied to An Taisce for the Green-schools Award
We elected a Green-Schools Committee
We did an Environmental Review for the School

Then we decided on our projects:

    • Create an awareness of the litter in the immediate school area.
    •  Reduce the volume of Waste going to landfill site by 50% in a year.
Recently we were visited by Sinéad Ní Mhainín, Environmental Officer from Galway Co. Co. who examined our projects on behalf of An Taisce

Today - 24.05.2000 - we got our letter:

Dear Mr. O'Regan and Green-Schools Committee,

An Taisce's Green-Schools Evaluation Committee in Dublin, which makes the decision to award the Green-Flag, was extremely impressed with you programme and had no hesitation in making their decision.
