CARNAUN NATIONAL SCHOOL  Townland, Placenames and Fieldnames for the Heritage Trail This year we will revive the study of Townland Names and Placenames so that the pupils will understand their importance. These names describe the area or place very well. To do this we will use the following in our Heritage Trail and add to them when the children come with other appropriate ones from home.
