CARNAUN NATIONAL SCHOOL
Our Links to the
Library Service
The County Library has served
the schools of this county well for many years. The staff are very friendly
and helpful and try hard to get us the books we need in school. They change
our books very often and we always look forward to their visit.
Certs. for being excellent readers
were presented at our local Branch, Athenry, by Ann, our Librarian, to:
At Library Headquarters, Island
House, Cathedral Square, Galway.
Every year the sixth class visit the library headquarters in Cathedral Square ,Galway, for a 'research day'. We always look forward to this day which usually ends with a picnic in Wood Quay and a tour of Galway's lovely waterways. This year we have much to research as we need to know a lot about Castle Ellen from Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland, Cromwell's Book of Survey and Distribution and Griffith's Valuation.
