CARNAUN NATIONAL SCHOOL ![]() Carnaun is a clean healthy place in which to live The air is pure and clean. Lichens
grow in abundance on stone walls, on fence posts and on tree trunks. This
is proof that the air is free of pollution. Outside our window we can pick fresh vegetables
from our school garden glistening in the morning dew. Our hedgerows are
covered with juicy fruit that is free of pollution and safe to eat. With
mellow pears that cheat the teeth, which melt that tongues may suck them
in. [Rich Days; W. H. Davies] The sweet scent of the Autumn flowers
fill the air and the gossamer on the hedgerows on our way to school is
a breathtaking sight. John Keats could have written his poem Ode to Autumn
about our area because only in an area as fresh and pure as ours could
nature produce such wonderful fruit.
