CARNAUN NATIONAL SCHOOL Chess My favourite evening is Wednesday when I go to Chess lessons. Christy Archer teaches us. There is a Chess competition in the Community games and I hope to be on it. Chess is a board game that originated at least as early as the 2nd centuary A.D. It is for two players. Each player has sixteen pieces (1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Rooks, 2 Bishops, 2 Knights and 8 Pawns. The object of the game is to capture your opponent's King. The King is the most important piece and the Queen is the most powerful piece. A few previous winners of the World Chess Champions.
