Using a Solar Panel as Alternative
Energy in School!
Making the solar Panel September 2005
We have the right tools!
An old Bathroom Radiator!
What about the Frame?
Nearly Ready!
Wow! The Water is getting HOT!!!
During the month of September we monitered the
heat of the water in the panel every hour and found that while some days
it reached 60 degrees on other days it just went up about 20 degrees. However
the average daily rise in temperature for the month of September was 14
degrees which proved that it could be used as an alternative / additional
source of heating in the school and thus reduce our overall heating costs.
Our next step is to get help from The Environment
Department of Galway Co. Council, NUIG, Fionn Science Project and other
interested bodies in order to try and make this a reality.
