Credit Union Co. League Round 14 - Saturday 7th November 2004
- Fossa 3-11 Stracks 'B' 0-10
Fossa missed out on promotion by 2 points despite and victory
over Austin Stacks on Saturday. Fossa needed Knocknagoshel to
beat Na Gaeil and Dr. Crokes to beat Ballydonoghue, however
Crokes gave Ballydonoghue a Walk over and Na Gaeil beat
Knocknagoshel to clinch a playoff spot with Ballydonoghue.
Fossa playing with a weakened team, due to 4 of our Minors
representing and winning the County Minor Championship with
East-Kerry, started slowly in this game and never really
started playing until the second period. Eoin O Connell with
two goals and Donhnaill O'Sullivan with 1-9 were the chief
marksmen on the day. Fossa can count themselves very unlucky
not to at least get a playoff for promotion as there were a
few games that should have been won during the year. Hopefully
the team can learn and make it all the way next season. Team:
Colin Myers, Colin Davidson, Anthony Wharton, Lorcan Daly,
Derry O'Sullivan, Dan McKenna, Mark Dennehy, Tommy Cronin,
Conor O'Keeffe, Dan O'Sullivan, Killian Lynch (0-1), Peter
Shallow, Eoin O'Connell (2-0), Domhnaill O'Sullivan (1-9),
Micko Connell (0-1). Subs: Kevin McCarthy, Paul Lynch.
Credit Union Co. League Round 13 - Sunday 17th October 2004 -
Listry 2-07 Fossa 1-17
Fossa beat neighbours Listry in Round 13 of the County League
yesterday, a result which means Fossa still have a slim chance
of making the playoffs. With only one round to go, Fossa will
be relying on other results for a playoff place. A weakened
Fossa side played some good football yesterday with Domhnaill
O'Sullivan in fine form, scoring 8 points. Padraig Kelly had
the ball in the Listry net early in the second half before
Listry rallied with two late goals. Fossa however scored some
nice points and ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-17 to
2-07. Team: Colin Myers, Lorcan Daly, Fintan Coffey, John
O'Donovan, Mark Dennehy, Dan McKenna, Anthony Wharton, Tommy
Cronin (0-1), Mickey Cronin, Dan O'Sullivan, Killian
Lynch(0-1), Padraig Kelly (1-1), Derry O'Sullivan(0-1),
Domhnaill O'Sullivan(0-8), Jimmy Falvey(0-5).
Credit Union Co. League Round 12 - Saturday 18th September
2004 - Renard 0-12 Fossa 0-10
Fossa will have to be content with another season in Division
5 after a agonising defeat to Renard on Saturday night, ended
our hopes of promotion. Fossa showed great heart and every
player really wore the jersey with pride but unfortunately
we lost out by two late Renard points. Fossa playing with aid of
a slight breeze started well and Domhnaill O'Sullivan and
Jimmy Falvey(2) had Fossa leading by 3 points after 10
minutes. Renard responded with 2 points but again Domhnaill
O'Sullivan and Anthony Wharton extended Fossa's lead to 3
points again. Fossa were fortunate to keep the lead at this
stage as Colin Myers pulled off two top class saves to deny
Renard. Renard fought back however and added a few more points
to leave the half time score Fossa 0-6 Renard 0-6. Playing
against the breeze in the second half Fossa got off to a good
start with O'Sullivan pointing two frees but Fossa couldn't
seem to shake off Renard as they again responded with 2 long
range points. When O'Sullivan and Falvey added two further
points and Myers made another superb stop it looked as if
Fossa had the beating of Renard but when Renard equalised with
4 minutes on the clock is as always going to be difficult for
Fossa to respond to a Renard side that played 7 at the back
throughout. Unfortunately Renard took advantage of the wind
and after winning two loose breaking balls around the middle
of the field, kicked two long range points to ensure
promotion. Fossa can take heart form this game however, and the
fact that we lost 2 games by 3 points, 1 game by 2 points and
1 game by a single point, argues well for next season. On the
night Colin Myers in Goal, Karl Foley at Corner back, Derry
O'Sullivan and Wing back, the Cronin brothers in Midfield and
O'Sullivan and Falvey in attack were outstanding. Team: Colin
Myers, Karl Foley, Fintan Coffey, Anthony Wharton(0-1), Mark
Dennehy, Dan McKenna, Derry O'Sullivan, Tommy Cronin, Mickey
Cronin, Eoin O'Connell, Killian Lynch, Micko Neill, Jimmy
Falvey (0-3), Domhnaill O'Sullivan(0-6), Kenneth Clifford.
Subs: Dan O'Sullivan, John O'Donovan, David Lynch, Jason
O'Brien.
Credit Union Co. League Round 13 - Saturday 11th September 2004 -
Fossa 0-13 Dr. Crokes 2-10
Fossa promotion hopes took a severe setback on Saturday
evening when they were beaten by a very strong Dr. Crokes B
side in Fossa. Fossa started well and Domhnaill O'Sullivan had
5 points on the board before Dr. Crokes registered their first
point on 15 minutes. Unfortunately for Fossa abit of a
scruffle broke out at this stage, and it seemed to upset their
rhythm, with Dr. Crokes adding 1-3 without replay before
Killian Lynch kicked the final point of the half for Fossa to
leave the half-time score Dr. Crokes 1-4 Fossa 0-6. The second
half started off where the first left off and it was end to
end action for the 30 minutes with both side exchanging
points. With ten minutes remaining Dr. Crokes got the vital
and all important second goal to put 4 points between the
sides. However Fossa fought back with points for O'Sullivan
and Lynch to leave 2 between the sides with a minute left.
Fossa have the right to feel hard done by, by the referee, as
in the the final seconds the Crokes Full-Back picked the ball
straight off the ground on the Dr. Crokes goal line after
O'Sullivan had beaten the keeper. This should have resulted in
a penalty but the referee decided against it and blew the
final whistle. Final Score: Dr. Crokes 2-10 Fossa 0-13. With 3
games remaining Fossa must win all 3 to still have a hope of
promotion. Next up is Renard away this Saturday at 6.30.
Players to meet in Fossa @ 5pm sharp. Team: Colin Myers, Karl
Foley, Fintan Coffey, Anthony Wharton, Derry O'Sullivan, Dan
McKenna, Conor O'Keeffe, Tommy Cronin, Mickey Cronin, Eoin
O'Connell, Killian Lynch(0-3), Kenneth Clifford, Jimmy
Falvey(0-1), Domhnaill O'Sullivan(0-9), Eoin Long. Subs:
Micheal O'Neill, Micheal O'Connell, John O'Donovan, Dan
O'Sullivan.
East Kerry O'Sullivan Cup - Round 1 -
Monday 2nd August 2004 - Kilcummin B 2-06 Fossa 0-11
Fossa fell at the first hurdle of the 2004 East Kerry
O'Sullivan Cup after defeat to a young Kilcummin B side. Fossa
can only blame themselves however as they lead by 0-11 to 0-2
five minutes into the second half. Fossa had a good first half
performance and lead by 0-9 to 0-2 at half time with points
from Dan O'Sullivan, David Lynch, Padraig Kelly and Kenneth
Clifford. Eoin Long and Anthony Wharton had early points in
the second half to see Fossa open up a 9 point gap but things
fell apart after that. Kilcummin were awarded a penalty 10
minutes into the second half and when their full forward
converted in sparked a new life into the team and they went on
to add a further 1-4 with out reply, they're winning point
coming from a free in front of the posts 2 minutes into injury
time. This was without doubt the worst second half performance
by a Fossa team in a long time. Team: Colin Myers, Mark
Dennehy, Dan McKanna, Anthony Wharton(0-1), Derry O'Sullivan,
Conor O'Keeffe, Karl Foley, Tommy Cronin, Mickey Cronin, Dan
O'Sullivan(0-1), Eoin Long(0-2), Padraig Kelly(0-3), David
Lynch(0-1), Eoin O'Connell, Kenneth Clifford(0-3). Subs: Jason
O'Brien, Dominic Reintoul.
Credit Union Co. League Round 10 - Saturday 31th July 2004 -
Fossa 3-11 Knocknaghoshel 1-08
Fossa had a good victory over a physical Knocknagnoshel
side in Round 10 of the county league in Fossa on Saturday
night. This was a closer game than the score suggests with
Fossa getting late goals to put breathing space between the
teams. Fossa started well and had early points from Kenneth
Clifford, Padraig Kelly and Eoin O' Connell, however
Knocknagoshel fought back and the sides were level 0-5 apiece
at the break. Fossa got off to a good start again in the
second half with early points from Killian Lynch and Eoin Long
but again Knocknagoshel fought back to tie the scores 0-8
apiece with 15 minutes to go. Then came the turning point when
Eoin O'Connell played Kenneth Clifford through who finished to
the net from the tightest of angels after rounding the
advancing keeper. Two minutes later it was the same
combination again with Clifford scored a cracking goal into
the roof of the Knocknagoshel net. Killian Lynch had a few
more points before Knocknagoshel hit back for a consolation
goal. Fossa had the final score of the game whn Killian Lynch
finished to the net after good work from Eoin Long. Final Score Fossa 3-11 Knocknagoshel 1-08. This was a
good victory with Colin Myers in goal, Derry O'Sullivan in
Defence, MIcky Cronin in Midfield and Kenneth Clifford, Eoin
O'Connell and Killian Lynch in attack to the fore. However
improvement will be required if we're to overcome highflying
Renard away next weekend. Team: Colin Myers, Mark Dennehy,
Fintan Coffey, Anthony Wharton, Derry O'Sullivan, Conor
O'Keeffe, Dan Mckenna, Mickey Cronin(0-1), Tommy Cronin, Eoin
O'Connell(0-1), Killian Lynch(1-4), Kenneth Clifford(2-1),
Micko Connell, Eoin Long(0-1), Padraig Kelly(0-3). Subs: David
Lynch, John O'Donovan, Dominic Reintoul.
Credit Union Co. League Round 9 - Sunday 25th July 2004
- Ballyduff 0-04 Fossa 1-12
Fossa kept their push for promotion firmly on track with a
great victory over Ballyduff away on Sunday afternoon. Fossa
started well and had early points from Kenneth Clifford and
Padraig Kelly before Ballyduff responded with a free. Kelly
added two more points before half-time to leave Fossa leading
0-04 to 0-02. Ballduff got the first point of the second
half but Fossa then went on a scoring spree with Killian
Lynch, Jimmy Falvey and Padraig Kelly adding a brace each to
leave the score Fossa 0-10 Ballyduff 0-03. Kenneth Clifford
and Padraig Kelly added further points before Tommy Cronin
blasted the ball to the back of the net to leave the full time
score Fossa 1-12 Ballyduff 0-04. This was a truly excellent
performance by Fossa and next up is Knocknagoshel at home next
weekend. Team: Colin Myers, Karl Foley, Dan McKenna, Anthony
Wharton, Derry O'Sulivan, Conor O'Keeffe, Mark Dennehy, Tommy
Cronin(1-0), Mickey Cronin, Eoin O'Connell, Killian
Lynch(0-2), Kenneth Clifford(0-2), Jimmy Falvey(0-2), Padraig
Kelly(0-6), Eoin Long. Subs: Micko Connell, Jason O'Brien.
East Kerry Fr.
Galvin Cup Quarter Final - Saturday 17th July 2004 - Dr.
Croked 'B' 2-10 Fossa 1-11
Fossa were knocked out of the Fr. Galvin Cup by Dr. Crokes on
Saturday evening. Fossa Had a very poor first half and had
only 1-01 on the scoreboard over the thirty minutes to Crokes
0-8, Fossa's goal coming from the boot of Padraig Kelly.
Crokes started well again in the second half and notched up
two early points to leave Fossa trailing by six. This seemed
to knock abit of life into Fossa and they went on to score six
unanswered points to tie the scores with 10 minutes left.
Crokes however rallied and hit back with a goal to open the
gap to three points again. Fossa were not done however and
again fought back to level matters with fine points from Jimmy
Falvey and Eoin Long. With time running out Fossa grabbed the
lead for the first time when Padraig Kelly converted to give
Fossa the slightest of leads. Dr. Crokes broke up the field
from the resulting kickout and when Roland Neher was fouled 30
meters from the Fossa goal it looked as if he would point the
free to level matters but his kick droped short and the Crokes
Full forward managed to get a fist to ball and stick it in the
back of the net to leave the final score Dr. Crokes 2-10 Fossa
1-11. Based on Fossa's second half performance we surely
deserved at least a draw but unfortunately it wasn't to be on
the night. Team: Colin Myers, John O'Donovan, Fintan Coffey,
Anthony Wharton, Kenneth Clifford, Conor O'Keeffe(0-1), Derry
O'Sullivan, Mickey Cronin(0-1), Tommy Cronin, Jimmy
Falvey(0-1), Killian Lynch, Eoin Long (0-1), Jason O'Brien,
Domhnaill O'Sullivan, Padraig Kelly(1-7). Subs: Mark Dennehy,
David Lynch, Damien Dennehy, Micheal O'Connell.
Credit Union Co. League Round 8 - Saturday 10th July 2004
- Fossa 1-13 Asdee 1- 08
Fossa moved a few places up the table on Saturday night after
a hardfought win over Asdee with a weakened side. Fossa were
missing around 10 in all through injury and work commitments
but the lads on the field didn't let the club down and ensured
victory over a young Asdee side. Fossa had four early points
on the board from Padraig Kelly, three from frees, before
Asdee opened their account with a point. Further points from
Tommy Cronin and Eoin Long (2) opened up a six point lead
before Jimmy Falvey nipped in for an opportunist goal after a
poor kick out from the Asdee keeper. This left the half time
score Fossa 1-7 Asdee 0-2. Asdee started well in the second
half and but for some excellent defending by the Dennehy
brothers and Fintan Coffey in the full back line, could have
clawed back Fossa's advantage. They did however manage to find
the net at the three quarter stage to pull the score back to
1-5 to 1-10. Colin Myers made and outstanding one on one save
to deny Asdee the chance to close the gap to 2 points and when
Kelly and Jason O'Brien added further points the game was over
as a contest. Asdee added a few consolation points in the end
but Fossa ran out deserved winners on a scoreline of Fossa
1-13 Asdee 1-08. Team: Colin Myers, Mark Dennehy, Fintan
Coffey, Damien Dennehy, Derry O'Sullivan, Anthony Wharton,
David Lynch, Tommy Cronin(0-1), Mickey Cronin, Dan O'Sullivan,
Eoin Long (0-2), Jimmy Falvey (1-0), Eoin O'Connell, Padraig
Kelly(0-9), Jason O'Brien(0-1). subs: John Dineen, Donald
O'Sullivan, James Houlihan.
Credit Union Co. League Round 7 - Saturday 3rd July 2004
- Templenoe 1-06 Fossa 1-11 Fossa got
there county league campaign back on track with a good win
over Templenoe away on Saturday evening. Fossa were missing
Domhnaill O'Sullivan and Kevin Myers trough injury but
welcomed back Eoin Long who transferred back to the club from
Ballymun Kickhams in Dublin. Fossa Got off to a great start
when Long lashed in a high ball towards the posts which Eoin
O'Connell fielded superbly before laying off to Padraig Kelly
who blasted the ball into the roof of the net. Kelly and Killian
Lynch kicked some fine score in the first half to see Fossa
lead 1-4 to 0-04 at half time. Fossa again started well in the
second half and Kelly and Eoin O'Connell had early points.
With Fossa's backs and midfield in total control at this stage
Fossa noticed up some beautiful points mainly from the boot of
Man of the match Killian Lynch. Templenoe got a consolation
goal with practically the last kick of the game. Best for
Fossa on the night were Fintan Coffey at Full Back, Tommy
Cronin at Midfield and Jimmy Falvey, Killian Lynch and Padraig
Kelly in Attack. Next up is Asdee in Fossa next weekend. Team:
Colin Myers, Derry O'Sullivan, Fintan Coffey, Anthony Wharton,

Novice Championship
Round 2 - Saturday 26th June 2004 - Fossa 1-06 Moyvane 3-08
Fossa lost out to Moyvane in the 2nd
round of the Novice Championship on Saturday evening due
mainly to a poor second half performance. Indeed Fossa lead by
2 points 10 minutes into the second half with points from
Jimmy Falvey and Killian Lynch. The teams had been tied at 1-4
apiece at half time with Fossa's goal being an og from the
Moyvane corner back. Moyvane made a late rally however in the
second half and finished the game off with 2 goals to knock
Fossa out of the competition. Team: Colin Myers, John
O'Donovan, Fintan Coffey, Anthony Wharton, Kenneth Clifford,
Dan McKenna, Karl Foley, Domhnaill O'Sullivan, Mickey Cronin,

Credit Union Co. League Round 6 -
Saturday 5th June 2004 - Fossa 1-14 Ballydonoghue
2-12 Ballydonoghue beat Fossa by a point in
Round 6 of the County league in Fossa on Saturday night. Fossa
were quick off the blocks and points from Kevin Myers and Padraig Kelly saw them open up a two point lead within the
first 5 minutes. Fossa then seemed to fall asleep as
Ballydonoghue hit 1-5 without reply. Killian Lynch scored a
cracking goal on 20 minutes to reduce the deficit and further
points by Lynch, Myers and Kelly saw the half time score Fossa
1-6 Ballydonoghue 1-8. Ballydonoghue started the second half
better and added two points before Fossa responded with
further points from Kelly and Eoin O'Connell. Kelly again was
on the end of 3 frees and his conversions saw Fossa take the
lead by a point at the three quarter stage. This lead proved
to be short lived as Ballydonoghue had the ball in the back of
the Fossa net for the second time. Fossa rallied again however
and Kevin Myers converted to see the slightest of margins
between the teams. Indeed Myers had a great chance to level
matters into injury time but his weak effort was blocked by
the full back. Killian Lynch had one last effort for Fossa but
his left footed shot dropped short of the posts to leave the
final score Fossa 1-14, Ballydonoghue 2-12. This defeat sees
Fossa drop to mid table. Next up for Fossa
is Templenoe away in July and another defeat would surly rule
out Fossa's promotion hopes. Team: Colin Myers, Mark Dennehy,
John O'Donovan, Anthony Wharton, Derry O'Sullivan, Dan
McKenna, Conor O'Keeffe, Mickey Cronin, Tommy Cronin, Eoin
O'Connell(0-1), Killian Lynch (1-3), Jimmy Falvey, Dan

The Aquilla Club
O'Donoghue Cup Rd. 1
Friday 28th May 2004 - Glenflesk 2-18
Fossa 2-06
Fossa went down to a much stronger Glenflesk team in
Glenflesk on Friday night. Fossa started brightly and had two
points on the board from Domhnaill O'Sullivan and a Padraig
Kelly free but Glenflesk responded with two points, one an
outstanding free form Paud O'Donoghue. Fossa should have
scored a goal at this stage when Padraig Kelly played Kevin
Myers through only for his effort to come back off the upright
but it was Glenflesk who broke upfield and finished the move
with the ball in the back of the net. Fossa's forwards were
guilty of very bad shooting on the night and on another night
would have notched up at least 1-8 in the first half however
they went in at the break 1-8 to 0-3 down. Glenflesk came out
all guns blazing again in the second half an killed the game
off early with a few nice points and a goal. Fossa never gave
in though and Kevin Myers had the ball in the Glenflesk net
direct from a 45 followed by a point. Jimmy Falvey and Padraig
Kelly kicked two nice points before Killian Lynch scored a
cracking goal to leave the final score Gelnflesk 2-18 Fossa
2-06. Team: Colin Myers, Karl Foley, Conor o'Keeffe,

Credit Union Co. League Round 5 -
Saturday 15th May 2004 - Glenbeigh 1-09 Fossa 0-09
Fossa went down to Glenbeigh in Round 5 of the county league
in Glenbeigh on Saturday evening. Fossa started well and
kicked some fine points throught Domhnaill O'Sullivan, Padraig
Kelly and a fabulous 45 form the boot of Jimmy Falvey to leave
the half time score Fossa 0-8 Glenbeigh 0-5. Despite having a
3 point lead going into the second half Fossa never got going
after the resumption and scored just one point from a free in
the whole 30 minutes. The writing was on the wall when
Glenbeighs full-forward fielded a high ball in the box and
blast home form a tight angle. The game ended on a sour note
when Glenbeigh had a player sent off for kicking Conor
O'Keeffe in the face. It must be said the the standard of
refereeing in this game was dismal. However over the 60
minutes Glenbeigh deserved maximum points. Best for Fossa on
the night were Dan McKenna, Tommy Cronin and Jimmy Falvey.
Fossa's next game in the league is at home to Ballydonoghue on
June 5th. Team: Colin Myers, Karl Foley, Tomas Daly,
Anthony Wharton, Derry O'Sullivan, Dan McKenna, Conor

Credit Union Co. League Round 4 - Saturday
1st May 2004 - Fossa 0-14 Na Gaeil 1-11
Fossa and Na Gaeil played out an exciting and entertaining
draw before a large attendance on Saturday evening. With only
seconds gone on the clock a mix up in the Fossa defence in the
first minute let Na Gaeil in for an easy goal, But this is a
very determined Fossa outfit and they were not going to
surrender their unbeaten record in the league easily. Within
10 minutes Fossa were back level, points by Mick O'Connell,
Padraig Kelly (2) and Domhnaill O'Sullivan tied the score at
0-4 to 1-1. Kelly gave a fine display of point scoring and
finished the evening with 8 points, kicking frees with his
left and right foot at ease. Fossa went in at the break
trailing by 2 points on a scoreline of 0-7 to 1-6 and went
further behind early in the second half. Then Fossa with the
back six now dominating play got to grip with the game and
points from Donald Sullivan, Kelly and Kevin Myers saw Fossa
take a two point lead. The last few minutes of the game were
very exciting as Na Gaeil clawed their way back and levelled
things up with the last kick of the game. All in All it was a
fair result and both teams should be there or there abouts at
the end of the season. On the night the Fossa defence were
well marshalled by Colin Myers in goal and he was again
outstanding all evening. Karl Foley and Anthony Wharton were
the pick of the back, in the middle of the field Tommy Cronin
and Connor O'Keefe worked hard all evening with Connor scoring
a fine point. Up front, Domhnaill O'Sullivan's pace was a
constant threat and with Kevin Myers looking fit and eager all
evening, all six played well. This was a good performance by
Fossa and next up is away to Glenbeigh in the County League.

Novice Championship
Round 1 - Saturday 24th April 2004 - Fossa 0-15 Knocknagoshel
1-08
Fossa kicked off the Novice
championship with a great win over Knocknagoshel in Fossa on
Saturday evening. Fossa playing with a slight breeze and
without a few regulars started brightly and had 5 points on
the board from Domhnaill O'Sullivan, Padraig Kelly and Kevin
Myers before the vistors open there account. Fossa played some
great football in the first half and were unlucky not to hit
the net on two occasions, the first when Domhnaill O'Sullivan
crashed the ball off the crossbar and the second when Eoin
O'Connell had his shot tipped over the bar. However Fossa
kicked some fine points to leave the half time score Fossa 0-8
Knocknagoshel 0-4. Fossa again started the second half
well and 2 frees from Padraig Kelly extended the lead to 6
points. Knocknagoshel fought back however and scored a few
points but O'Sullivan and Myers kicked points in the opposite
end to keep breathing space between the teams. Padraig Kelly
scored 2 more great frees before Knocknagoshel got a
consolation goal with a few minutes left. Fossa's defence was
excellent throughout with Karl Foley and Mark Dennehy
standing out. Tommy Cronin and Conor O'Keeffe played solidly
at midfield while Domhnaill O'Sullivan, Padraig Kelly and
Kevin Myers kicked some fine points in the forwards. Next up
is Na Gaeil in the County League at home next weekend. Team:

Credit Union Co. League Round 3-
Saturday 17th April 2004 - Kilgarvan 1-05 Fossa
1-10
Fossa chalked
up three on the trot in a hard fought game on a water sodden
pitch on Saturday evening. All went Fossa's way in the first
half when they played some delightful football. The first half
saw some super attaching play with Jimmy Falvey and Mikey
Cronin being instrumental in most of the play, points from
Padraig Kelly and Killian Lynch saw Fossa open the scoring
before a Killgarvan reply, then an opportunist goal from Eoin
O'Connell midway throught the first half gave Fossa some
breathing space, Further points from Donald O'Sullivan and
Kevin Myers and a wonder score from the influential Tommy
Cronin in the middle of the Park gave Fossa a half time lead
of 1-7 to 0-2. But just before half time Killgarvan were
awarded a penalty and a super save from Colin Myers, diving to
his right and stopping with his foot to the left, This was to
be one of his many outstanding saves all evening, After half
time Killgarvan attacked insistently, But they found Myers in
unstoppable form stopping shot after shot, until the last
minute of the game when they scored a consolation goal. If the
first half was a half for attacking, the second half was the
defenders turn to shine, Karl Foley was immaculate at half
back and forged ahead at all time, John Donavan gave a solid
display in the full-back line and was assisted by the Anthony
Wharton, who gave another outstanding performance. In attach,
Eoin O'Connell was eager and points by Padraig Kelly and
Domhnaill Sullivan helped keep all under control. All in All
another good performance and the next game is at home to
Knocknagoshel next week-end in the Novice Championship. The
management team would like to thank all those who travelled to
support the team and Killgarvan for the hospitality shown
after the match. Team: Colin Myers, Anthony Wharton, Tomas
Daly, John Donovan, Derry OSullivan, Conor O'Keeffe, Karl
Foley, Mikey Cronin, Tommy Cronin(0-1), Jimmy Falvey, Killian

Credit Union Co. League Round 2- Saturday
10th April 2004 - Fossa 2-12 Derrynane 0-08
Fossa Kept the county
league campaign on the right track with a superb win over a
young Derrynane side in Fossa on Saturday eveining. Fossa
playing against the wind in the first half started brightly and
led by 0-5 to 0-0 after 15 minutes with wing forward Domhnaill
O'Sullivan kicking 4 and a Padraig Kelly free kick. Fossa played
some superb football in the first half and the backs in
particular where in excellent form holding Derrynane to 3 points
the opening half. O'Sullivan kicked another point before making
a lightening run through the Derrynane defense and playing a one
two with Kevin Myers only for the Derrynane keeper to bring him
down in the box. Myers converted the resulting penatly into the
bottom left hand corner to leave the half time score Fossa 1-06
Derryane 0-3. Fossa again started the second half the brighter
and Domhnaill O Sullivan again had the white flag raised twice

dominating the game at this stage and minors Karl Foley and
Jimmy Falvey made a move up the right wing where Foley found
Myers running through and Myers blasted home his second goal to
kill off the game as a contest. Jimmy Falvey and Mick O'Connell
got on the score sheet with two nicely taken points before Derrynane responded with a few consolation points. Domhnaill

time after 2 minutes leaving Fossa behind by 6 points. Fossa
responded and Kelly and Myers reduced the deficit to 3 points

looked like the game was over when Rahillys scored their 3rd

the fist of Padraig Kelly after a hopefull ball in from Myers
reduced Rahillys lead to 3 points once again. Kelly and Myers
kicked 2 more points to leave the narrowest of margins in it
with 3 minutes on the clock before Killian Lynch kicked a fine
point to level matters. With time running out Fossa's backs
withstood Rahillys final attack and Domhnaill O Sullivan broke
from his own 21 meter line leaving a trail of Rahillys players
after him before playing a nice one two with the outstanding
Jimmy Falvey and passing to Myers to kick the winning point from
