Fossa 3 - 13   Glenflesk 2 - 4.

This final played in ideal conditions in Dr. Crokes pitch on  Monday evening last saw a
rampant Fossa side  score  a convincing win over a gallant Glenflesk
team.   Fossa, welcoming back Niall O'Brien after injury imposed
themselves on the game from the outset and dominated througout. Two
early points from David Osterloh and Brendan Falvey set Fossa on their
way and a great Fintan McCarthy goal boosted their spirits
further. However Glenflesk struck back to tie the score at 1 - 2 each
but Fossa then struck for a Micheal Sheehan goal followed by points
from S. Devane, B. Coffey, M. Sheehan, T. Moriarty and B.Falvey and a
third goal from S.Devane saw Fossa in a commanding lead of 3 - 8 to 1
- 2 at the interval.
The second half was better contested but the Fossa defence stood firm
and points from S.Devane(2) T. Moriarty B.Walsh and M.O'Donoghue saw
Fossa run out comfortable winners. F.Moran accepted the Div. 3 shield
from East Kerry Vice Chairperson Maria Falvey.
On the night Fossa had many heroes indeed the entire team played well.
D.Cronin in goal was confident and in defence F.Moran N.Prendiville
and N.O'Brien excelled with good support from the other defenders.

line S.Devane gave an outstanding display with great support from
B.Falvey , T.Moriarty.   D.Osterloh  put in a most wholehearted

E.Kerry League Div.3
Round 1 :Glenflesk 4-7 Fossa 0-11. This game played in Glenflesk on
Mon. April 9th saw Fossa give a wholehearted display despite the fact
that they were forced to start with 14 players.A determined display in
the first half saw Fossa lead 0-5 to 0-4 at
the interval. Fossa's problems were compounded when one of our players
received a second yellow card and had to leave the field of play. Short
several regulars the Fossa lads battled gamely and the stronger Glenflesk
boys only gained the upper hand in the closing quarter when Fossa were
tiring after their gallowest efforts to overcome their difficulties. Goals
win games and Glenflesk scored four in the second half and were deserving
winners even if the final score flattered them.A feature of this game was
the scoring of two 45's by Brendan Falvey. In form goalkeeper Alan Buckley
made some exellent saves and Neil Prendiville,Fintan McCarthy,Francis Moran
and Paddy Sheehan exelled in defence.Micheal Sheehan worked tirelessly at
mid-field while in attack Brendan Falvey,Terence Moriarty and Steven Devane
were to the fore.  Team: Alan Buckley, Paddy Sheehan, Neil
Prendiville,Brian Walsh, Eoin Rice, Fintan McCarthy, Francis Moran,
Micheal Sheehan (0-1), Brian Coffey, Brendan Falvey (0-6), Steven
Devane, David McCarthy, Terence Moriarty, Micheal
O'Donoghue, Eanna Coffey.
Round 2:Played on Sat. April 14.   Fossa 4-5 Gneeveguilla 3-7
Once again Fossa were short several regulars and an injury to Michael O'
Donoghue ment that Fossa had to play the second half with only 14 players as
no subs were available on the night.trailing at half time by 2.4 to 1.3, and
minus the injured Michael O'Donoghue, fossa showed great character and
determination in the second half to overturn the half time deficit and
emerge as winners by the narrowest of margins.  terence Moriarty scoreda
great goal for Fossa in the opening half and also converted a free. Brendan
Falvey scored two points in the opening half.  The second half saw Fossa in
a much more focused frame of mind and with Brian Coffey, Ml Sheehan and
Francis Moran giving a better supply of ball to the forwards Fossa gradually
got on top and two goals from Brendan Falvey and another from stephen Devane
put Fossa into the lead.  Gneevguilla struck for a late goal to narrow the
margin to just a single at the final whistle.  Daniel cronin returning after
injury was outstanding in goal while Fintan McCarthy and Francis Moran
formed a very solid centre line in defence.  They were very well supported
by Brian Walsh who scored a great point, Paddy Sheehan and David Osterloh
who had an excellent game.  Brian Coffey had a very good second half at
mid-field, while in attack Brendan Falvey, Stephen Devane and terence
Moriarty were well supported by the O Shea brothers Tadgh and Mikey and by
Ml O'Donoghue before his injury forced him to retire.Team: Daniel
Cronin, Paddy Sheehan, Fintan McCarthy, David McCarthy, Brian
Walsh(0-1), Francis Moran, David  Osterloh, Brian Coffey, Micheal
