Ndadzira title

The furthest we can go back in this branch of the family is to three brothers and two sisters who lived in Chitangazuva, Mozambique. The brothers were named:-
  • Mutoko
  • Chirimuhanzu
  • Chifambausiku
The girls were named:-
  • Sena
  • Nyemba
The two elder brothers came into dispute with each other and the third mediated between them. As a result he was given a new name, MUTASA. Mutasa is said to be the father of the Ndadzira family.

Caborabassa Dam Sena was a spirit medium. During the construction of the Cabora Bassa dam in Mozambique, the dam wall collapsed on a number of occasions. It is said that Sena was consulted to find a solution to the problem. Whether or not her advice was taken, the problem was certainly solved as the dam was eventually built!

  • Author's Note: There would seem to be a major time difficulty in reconciling this story - or perhaps I didn't fully understand what was being said to me! Cabora Bassa was only completed in 1974.

The dam at Cabora Bassa is fed by the mighty Zambezi river. Electricity generated here is fed throughout the southern African region including Zimbabwe itself.

They family initially moved to Binga Guru in Manicaland and subsequently to Rusape. However I do not have an unbroken line from Mutasa to Agnes. This is what I know of her pedigree.

Edson Marerwa, son of Norah Ndadzira (sister of Agnes)
Edson has said that he himself is also a spirit medium.
