Overhanging a hedge
of evergreen yew   willows
wave on the spring breeze

Although far apart
the figures in a garden
seem to share one world

The lower branches
already sprouting   the leaves
of the horse-chestnut

The look of pleasure
on a young girl's face   a lamb
held close in her arms

Looking at the sky
as the light breaks thro' the clouds
the great power of God

6.

Cow-parsley in June
along the edge of a wood
a green sprinkled white

Waving after traffic
the grass along a road-side
slowly comes to rest

8.

Display of a tree
at the edge of the forest
the gathering dusk

9.

A woman's worn shoes
a light pink   left where fallen
casually on the floor

A scene such as this
on an ordinary day   an angel
appeared to Mary

What glow the angel
must have borne from heaven
to this young woman

A mission from God
never imagined before
in Christ come to pass
