Jubilee Gem

The Beginning of the new academic year is a time of reflection on the past and anticipation of what is to come. The following exercise is designed to encourage students as they begin the last term of the century, to take some time to reflect on what is precious in their lives and to identify their hopes for the Jubilee Year. When students have completed the exercise their Jubilee Gems should be sealed and collected by the teacher so that they can be returned at the end of the Jubilee Year for review and evaluation.

A Gem is a precious stone or something of great beauty and value.

The symbol of a gem is used to help identify what qualities are most precious to you in terms of yourselves, your family, your friends and your relationship with God.
