Fred was a great friend of my
father Thomas, I remember traveling all over with my father to see
Fred Finn & Peter Horan & another who's name escapes me. I was in Ireland 2001 and made a point of catching Peter playing fiddle & flute at a pub miles from our rented cottage in Leitrim. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Great site. One of my ancestors was also (so story has it) helped Michael Coleman name some of his tunes including Jenny's Chickens. Our family lived in the Ballymote, Gurteen & Killavil areas for many years. |
