Once again the Ballintogher Traditional Music
Festival and Feis was a huge success with record numbers attending the
events and workshops.
Thursday 1st November there was an Oiche Gaelach -
Bilingual Table Quiz followed by a music Session
On Friday the official opening was followed by a concert in
Abbey Manor Hotel, Dromahair
The concert featured Noel Hill, Workshop
Tutors, C.C.E. Musicians, Singers and Dancers
On Saturday there
were Music Workshops with
Fiddle Paddy Ryan, Flute John Wynne Whistle Mairead Hurley Concertina Noel Hill Singing Cian Kearns Harp Laoise Kelly Button Accordeon Peter Staunton Drums Dermot Hurley
We had Sean Nós Dancing/Steps in Morans, Ballintogher
with Brenda O'Callaghan and a Traditional Singing Session
On Saturday night we had a Ceilí- with the SWALLOW'S TAIL CEILI BAND
Mass on Sunday was followed by a lecture entitled "Local
Area/Archaeology/Place Names"
