Serissa

Serissa

It is an evergreen shrub native to China, Japan and India. Its bark and roots emit a terrible, stinking smell, which the particular name is due to, but the star-shaped flower mass is astonishing. It has small green leaves, while the white flowers blossom in summer. You can find simple or double flower varieties, violet blossoms and different leaves. It is a subtropical species, so in temperate climate it must be grown indoor.

Everyday in the vegetative season: water the foliage every day, save when the tree is in bloom, because moisture fades the petals' colour. Keep the room wet and in winter, when days are short, keep the soil quite dry.
