Shakan

A well formed Shakan presents a very slanting trunk. It is important that the branches get narrower towards the top. Lower ramification must be elaborated well and act as a counter-balance to the rest of the bonsai tree, because of its size.
The trunk must move aslant from its base and climb up with sinous movements; the apex of the tree will never become perpendicular to its base.
Upright bonsai trees with very high trunks are suitable for a slanting shape; in fact, if you bend their trunks, their branches approach the soil and the plants reach the proportions you want.
